Recent Activity
- 30,000 trees and grasses planted
- 20 kilometers of fencing completed
- 15 kilometers of bait trails laid
- 350 plus vermin killed
- 1500 students visited sites from 20 schools
- 40 International Student Volunteers assisted
Other interesting works are undertaken by the team include assisting with the cultural site-surveys of the Lake Gorrie and Peters properties with professional archaeologists, participating in two eel research projects and from time to time we contract activities for erosion control, slashing grass, direct seeding, tree planting and fencing.
The Land Management team continue to undertake a range of Accredited Training and Professional Development opportunities:
- Red Card Construction Industry OH&S
- All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) training
- Chainsaw training
- First Aid Level 2
- Farm Chemical User Accreditation
- Certificate in Land Management and Conservation
- Participated in National Indigenous Protected Area Conferences
- Participated Garma Festival
The Land Management Team received the Glenelg Hopkins Catchment management Authority River Care Award 2008 in recognition for the work undertaken along Darlots Creek. We were runners up for the State Landcare Indigenous Award and a finalist in the 2009 Banksia Environmental Award.
